Toddler Play Group

From babyhood onward, playing helps to develop physical skills, teaches problem solving, communication, social interaction – and obviously, it’s great fun. Community playgroups are fun and open to everyone. At St. Katharine Drexel, we’re exploring the idea of creating a toddler playgroup. The purpose of this playgroup would be to provide a relaxed environment for our parish families with infants and toddlers aging from birth to school age to meet other parents and children. At playgroup, children make new friends, discover new experiences, gain self-confidence and develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. It also provides a social opportunity for toddlers that many children who are not in day care may be missing.

In addition to benefits to children, parents have the opportunity to make friends, spend special time with their children, exchange parenting ideas and build support networks. Playgroup can ease the isolation often felt by parents with young children.
